FORT WAYNE, IN. (August 4, 2015)—Rea Magnet Wire Company, Inc. has elected Arthur R. Miele as Chairman of the Board of Directors during the August 4, 2015 board meeting.
Mr. Miele, who resides in Paradise Valley, Arizona, joined the Rea Board in 2007 and has served as Vice Chairman and Lead Independent Director. He succeeds Jim Vann, majority shareholder of Rea, who was elected and now presides as Chairman of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is also comprised of Board Chairman Art Miele, Chief Executive Officer, Scott Harrison; and Vice Chairman, Ron Foster.
Prior to becoming a Rea board member, Mr. Miele was Senior Vice President of Phelps Dodge Corporation and a member of the Senior Management Committee. During his career at Phelps Dodge, he held various executive positions including Group Vice President responsible for manufacturing operations in Asia and Latin America, President of Phelps Dodge Sales Company, President of Phelps Dodge Refining Corporation, and President of Phelps Dodge Copper Products Company. He has served on the board of the London Metal Exchange, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, The European Copper Institute, and is currently Chairman of the Copper Club. In 2003, Mr. Miele was selected by the Copper Club as the Copper Man of the Year.
